Fotis Kourmousis

Executive Board Member, Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF)

Fotis Kourmousis is an executive member of the Board of Directors at the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF). He holds non-executive roles at the Hellenic Development Bank, EquiFund and Hellenic Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises, under the supervision of the Ministry of Development and Investments. He is a permanent Lecturer in the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).

In 2016 he created the Special Secretariat for Private Debt Management, as an autonomous agency and served as its Special Secretary for 5.5 years, under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance. He has served as Special Advisor for Sustainable Development issues in International Organizations, such as the European Commission (1999-2002) and United Nations (2004-2010), focusing on integrating ESG criteria into financial products of banks and insurances (UNEP FI).

He has served as Special Advisor to: Ministry of Finance (2012-2015) for tax administration issues, Ministry of Economy – Development (2011-2012) for investment issues, Ministry of Environment – Energy – Climate Change (2009-2011) for recycling issues, Ministry of Agriculture for the Greek Presidency of the EU (2003).

In the private sector he advised on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), investments and EU subsidies. He was an auditor on Management Systems (ISO) working for independent Certification Bodies (TUV, DNV).

Postgraduate studies in Banking Governance and Strategic Leadership (Oxford University SAID Business School), Corporate Governance (INSEAD Business School) and Executive Master’s in Business Administration (ALBA Graduate Business School – The American College of Greece). PhD in Engineering (NTUA). Graduate in Environmental Management (Aegean University).
